These agate flints are machine cut to a sharp edge. They have been tempered (heated) so, unlike most agate flints that are made from raw (un heated) agate and very hard, these have be cooked so that the edge can be resharpened. Still, they are very hard and tests have showed very good sparks and long life to flint. The photos shown are from strike 17 and 18 without resharpening.
